Some Information about Lions

Lions are large, powerfully built cats that are native to Africa and a small, secluded population in India. They are the most social of all wild cats and live in groups called "prides."

Lions are carnivorous predators that prey on medium to large-sized hoofed animals such as wildebeest, zebra, and antelope. They are also opportunistic hunters and will eat smaller animals or scavenge from other predators' kills.

A lion's roar is incredibly powerful and can be heard up to 5 miles (8 kilometers) away. They use it to communicate with other pride members and to mark their territory.

Lion cubs are born with spots and rosettes on their fur, which helps them camouflage in the tall grass. These spots generally fade as they get older.
